January, 2011 » The 2011 Pixie Awards

We’ve just received news that we have been awarded two gold 2011 Pixie Awards from the American Pixel Academy for our motion-graphics work on Autodesk “University” and Creative Nail Design “Trade Show Video”! Here’s to starting the new year off with a bang! Cheers!

It was a big year for LG’s Us National Texting Championship. We created an animated video using motion-graphics and title designs to recap the 2010 campaign events. Multi-media windows move throughout, playing our edits of the live events mini programs footage featuring the MTV Micro Events, the Bamboozle Tour Sponsorship, the SMS text campaigns, the Parents Tournament & New media Partnerships, and the Facebook Campaign. The big finish shows the Finals live event in New York City where two teens battle it out for a shot at up to $100,000.

November, 2010 » SAVO, Sales Event Video

When it comes to sales performance, SAVO likes to crank things up, set the stage, and blow the audience away with amplified productivity, content, sales, network and strategy techniques. We designed this motion-graphics intro video jam packed with grungy titles, splatters, EQ bars and loads of energy to amp up their crew for the executive summit meeting.

The makers of Buzztime believe in having a good time and we do too. That’s why they came to us to create their sales video to spread the word to business owners on how their games help increase foot traffic and dollars spent in each location they’re played. So, we used our motion-graphics “game” to animate title designs and highlight their stats and products. And hey, we had a good time doing it too…

Our snappy editing shows that anything goes when you’re on-the-go in these web videos for the Ford Fiesta Movement campaign. If you find yourself being chased by the pesky living dead, in need an impromptu date spot, or fronted with a dance-off (hey, anything is possible), we reveal the Fiesta features needed to get you on your way.

The agency gave us some beautiful footage to work with from the 2:30min web video for the 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, and asked us to cut :15 and :30 second commercials for web placements and Dish Network airing. We play up the sleek features of the MKZ Hybrid with panning edits, then cut to a night drive through the city. Light flares and reflections reveal animated titles as we end on a country road under a starry sky.

When we first bought the concept of free market capitalism, it was an easy sell. We were told wed be able to buy whatever we want whenever we want it at everyday low prices! We were also told access to free markets would unlock incredible wealth for the United States.

August, 2010 » Colorista II

When it comes to a program like After Effects, competing with Color Finesse 3 (that comes with AE CS5) can be tricky, but if there is one company out there determined to do it, it’s Red Giant Software and their flagship color correction application Colorista.

When AVID stated that they supported the MXO2 mini to monitor external video, I was pretty surprised, as this is a big change of direction for AVID as they normally only support their own hardware for video monitoring. I wanted to give the MXO2 mini a fair shake, as for the $449 price tag I really wanted (and hoped) it to work for the user bases sake. Let’s see how it fared.

In less than a year since opening, Divizion has completed the DI on seven features, including “Cookie” (Ciacho), one of Poland’s biggest-budget productions, directed by Patryk Vega. Next up is the big-budget, 3D stereo horror-flick “Charnobyl 2012”, from the same director. Providing in-house production resources; a clutch of RED ONE(tm) cameras, with RED Epic Stage 2 plus CG coming soon; editing; and ASSIMILATE’s SCRATCH(r) Digital Finishing Solution for the VFX and digital intermediates (DI).

With Media Composer version 5, Avid is moving in not only a forward direction, but in a bit of a sideways direction as well. Premiere Pro CS5 and Final Cut Pro are drag-and-drop editing applications. This means that you can not only drag clips from the preview window and drop it into your timeline, but you now have an extensive amount of flexibility when dragging clips around in your timeline as well.

Tween audiences will be all aglow when the musical “Standing Ovation” (2010) opens at theaters nationwide on July 16. The RED ONE(tm) Digital Camera was used for the shoot of this major summer release, and the entire DI, including color correction, was done in ASSIMILATE’s SCRATCH(r) Digital Finishing Solution at Local Hero Post, Santa Monica, CA.

We AVid users have had a BIG problem, and that was working with footage that was not OMF or (now) MXF. Any footage that wasn’t captured via the digitize tool needed to be imported and converted to either OMF or MXF, and in many cases, the process was excruciatingly long if files weren’t rendered with the Avid Codec. Thankfully, with Media Composer 5, that is no longer the case.

Mob Scene Creative + Productions took home three Golden Trailer Awards at the 11th Annual Golden Trailer Awards on June 10 at he the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Mob Scene’s tool of choice for their RED camera and 3D post workflows, color grading, and finishing is ASSIMILATE’s SCRATCH Digital SCRATCH(r) Digital Finishing Solution.

I’ve been a professional graphics card user for a number of years now and have used 5 or 6 different models from the NVIDIA Quadro by PNY product line. Currently I am using two dual-head cards in one workstation, lighting up four displays. I’ve become absolutely addicted to the speed of visual feedback I get while working on a system with a Quadro card installed…but Adobe CS5’s use of the GPU for edit effects preview changes everything.

SCRATCH v5.1 also introduces users to Post 2.0, the next-generation of digital post-production tools to achieve the highest level of quality in digital cinema imagery. SCRATCH v5.1 includes a host of new product features and enhancements that propel creative pros — broadcasters, filmmakers, studios, post facilities, creative teams, and agencies — to work at their utmost levels of creativity.

August, 2010 » The Jeff Koons Show

We’ve just completed editing and design work for Ford Taurus SHO “Fight to the Finish”, a :30 national TV spot for agency, Team Detroit, set to air this week on Dish Network.

Initially starting out as a viral campaign in the summer of 2009, “Taurus vs The Competition” featured a series of four 3min videos with teasers cut by Indigo comparing the new and improved Taurus with the higher classed Lexus, Audi, Infiniti and Acura. In each case study the Taurus SHO came out on top, winning all of the comparisons and moving up a class. To entice online viewers to watch the full videos, Indigo was asked to design title treatments and edit the comparison videos into one :30 teaser spot called “The Fight to the Finish”.

A cool car, awesome music and the great American open road. We cut 1min videos (per city stop) and a 2min complete teaser video of L.A. indie rock band, Dawes, as they set out on the road to Bonnaroo in a Ford Fiesta. Armed with a video camera and gigs almost every night along the way, they document their tour that takes them from city to city, ending at the four-day Bonnaroo music festival.
